To say my husband loves basketball would be an understatement. We are a home that loves sports but basketball season is one of his faves. The March basketball season is upon us and he takes watching his favorite team seriously. It also helps that his favorite team just happens to be one of the better ones (thankfully), so he stays pretty happy all season long! I love to make fun treats to munch on, so making a new treat to go along with my hubs love of basketball was a must!

On my latest trip to Sam's Club picking up a few things, I noticed this bag of Skittles and immediately had an idea of a fun treat to make that everyone could enjoy while watching basketball plus this would surely make basketball sweeter right?! I love Skittles by themselves but I wanted to make something quick and easy for game day, plus it had to be delish!

Well here is what I came up with using those Skittles. Are you ready to dunk the rainbow, taste the rainbow?

I give you "Dunk the Rainbow Bark' . . . a.k.a. the perfect treat to munch on while getting our game on! I mean seriously it it so good! You have to try it as it is so simple to make . . . just TWO ingredients: white chocolate and Skittles! That's it. It's only madness if you don't have Skittles! ;) And trust me, this was a slam dunk with the family!

Skittles Dunk the Rainbow Bark recipe:

Only 2 ingredients are needed to make this:
- Skittles
- 12 oz. bag of white chocolate chips or I used Wilton candy melts

Directions:
- crush up 1/2 cup of Skittles
- place wax paper inside of a 9x9 pan or one of your choice and spray to prevent it from sticking
- melt candy melts according to the directions on the package and pour into prepared pan
- sprinkle the crushed Skittles across the melted chocolate
- refrigerate for about 1/2 hour until solid
- once hardened, remove from pan and peel off wax paper and break into pieces or cut them with a knife - whichever you prefer

Place on your favorite dish or cake stand (in this case) because basketball treats can get a little fancy right? I sprinkled some Skittles around the bark plus filled some mini basketball bowls with some Skittles so they could easily be grabbed while watching the games.

What is your favorite Skittles flavor? If you love Skittles just as much as we do, make sure to follow them on facebook at www.facebook.com/Skittles or see more fun and ideas over here at Skittles Tourney.

I've never been a fan of skittles. Always seemed like a poor second to M&Ms to me. But they were never that popular in the UK so maybe that's why?

  26. Our family loves Skittles because they are a candy our kids can eat worry free without concerns about contamination or ingredients that could trigger their food allergies. I really enjoyed your post as I take a vacation time myself for first two days of March Madness every year so I can watch all the first round games on TV. "Taste the Rainbow" was my slogan playing rec league basketball in college because I always drilled my three point shots. I think I came up with it before Skittles did LOL
